Darrell's Birthday Card

This is the card I made Darrell for his birthday. I just LOVE this frog stamp set! I can't get enough of them! Inside I stamped "Have I toad you lately that I love you?"

Just thought I'd share - thanks for looking! Posted by Picasa

Darrell's Birthday

Yesterday was Darrell's 49th birthday - you know what that means (next year it'll be a BASH!). We spent the day just relaxing, even took a nap in the afternoon while Anthony took his. Then John and Deanna came over to stay with Anthony while Darrell and I went out to dinner to celebrate. We went to Tommy Bahamas restaurant, which was delicious! We started with drinks. I, of course, had my usual Mojito, while Darrell had a Mai-Tai. Then we shared a coconut shrimp appetizer and I had a cup of their splendidly creamy crab bisque. For the main course, Darrell enjoyed a filet mignon with a port-wine semi-glace topped with blue cheese and arugala, while I had a yummy jerk-seasoned pork tenderloin. I think it was the best pork tenderloin I've ever had! We both had garlic smashed potatoes, which were good, but I still think mine rival them! Since it was Darrell's birthday, they gave us a dessert on the house, and he chose the jamaican brownie, which was served warm with ice cream, whipped cream, toasted coconut, hot fudge and caramel sauces over it. If you think that sounds terribly rich and decadent - it was! I actually had to stop eating it after just a few bites, it was so over the top! (For those of you who really know me, you know how significant that is.) Anyway, we had a great time, and came home to a peacefully sleeping Anthony, who made sure he waited to wake up until mommy was in the final stages of drifting off to dreamland!

Yogurt

Anthony has always loved yogurt. He started eating it when he was about 9 months old, and now he eats it almost daily. I only recently gave up and started handing him the cup and spoon - you can see the results!! He is so intent when he is going to town - and it only takes one or two bites before he's covered in the stuff! I am truly amazed at how thoroughly he is able to cover himself from head to toe. And when he has trouble using the spoon - he finds other ways to get the yogurt out of the cup, even if it means squeezing the cup until it breaks and yogurt oozes out through the cracks!

Everyday fun

For the first time in over a month, we stayed home for the ENTIRE weekend! We didn't even go to church this morning...bad, I know, but we have all been so EXHAUSTED, and just needed some down time with no where to be and nothing to do. Anthony loved having his mom and dad home for a whole two days, and spent lots of time playing with us and sitting on our laps. I got to do some scrapbooking while he napped, which means I was a happy camper too...I mean, happy stamper! I didn't even get dressed today - stayed in my PJ's ALL DAY!!!

Here are some pics of Anthony playing today. He absolute ADORES his little Elmo chair which his grandma gave him. He drags it all over the house to sit in it. One day, he even dragged it into the bathroom when I was in there sitting on the throne, so he could be like mom! He also loves playing with his wall play thing, also a gift from grandma. It plays music, so he stands there and dances to it, cracking himself up while he's at it. Fortunately, the pics were taken before his bath - he fell in the tub and banged his head, leaving a big red knot on his forehead. Hopefully it won't look so bad by morning! Between that and his blueberry-stained butt, he looks like he got beat up!!

More stamping...

Had a bad migraine that just wouldn't quit...started yesterday, still had it this morning, so I stayed home from work. Got some rest, and finally started feeling better. So of course, took some time to do a little more stamping...here's the goods...

Stampin' hugs to all!

More free time for mom

Another card I made today...this one for my darling husband. I love this new stamp set I got - Unfrogettable, it's called. So adorable. I want to get the Lily Pad wheel that goes with it. Got a terrible migraine this afternoon, finally is clearing up tonight...felt like I was going to die there for a while! It was bad - my blood pressure went up to 140/103 because I was in so much pain!

Anthony's in a mood tonight...he's teething again, plus he just switched this week from two naps a day to one, so is having adjustment issues. Will put him to bed very soon and hope he sleeps well. He was doing really well there for a while, sleeping through the night, but the last few, has been waking up a couple times a night again...ugh. Wonder what are all the known effects of chronic sleep deprivation...think I have many of them! Posted by Picasa

Mom's afternoon

Yesterday I got done with work by noon...a rarity, but one of the definite perks of this job! So I came home...alone! I got SO much done! It's amazing how much one can accomplish without a child and a husband coming behind her making more messes. So I tackled the corner of our office, where I had accumulated a 6-month pile of STUFF. You know, the piles of mail that I moved from the kitchen counter when company came over but didn't have time to ever go through, and the countless magazines I haven't had time to read, and the leftover tissue paper from when I wrapped Christmas gifts! Plus, the wall of bookshelves that had countless misplaced items thrown on them, so you couldn't actually get to the BOOKS behind all the stuff! Anyway, three hours later, it was done...thank God!

Then, I actually had time to stamp a card for Anthony's daycare provider, who's been going through a rough time with some family stuff. Now that the office is clean, I feel like I can actually sit down and stamp, and not feel guilty because of the pile of crap sitting next to my stamping table! Here's the card I made...

I wish I had more time to stamp and scrapbook, but I'm too busy working extra jobs to try to make money to PAY for stamping and scrapbooking! LOL!

Anyway, I enjoyed my afternoon, and it was productive. I picked up Anthony, brought him home, and made dinner. Then we all went outside and worked in the yard, since it was a much cooler evening than what we've been having - meaning only high nineties as opposed to 110! Anthony played with his sand/water table, while I pulled weed and trimmed bushes in the back yard, and Darrell trimmed and cleaned up in the front yard (which the gardener is SUPPOSED to take care of). Anthony was covered in sand and dirt by the time we came inside to shower...he thought it was great fun that he and I wore our sandals into the shower to wash them!
